Vent

This is a vent on my old middle school.  I like how the lines lead into the subject mater and how the corner adds depth.

Pipes on School

This is a picture I took at my old middle school.  I walked around the building looking for interesting pictures.  I like the way the pipes are positioned and how they lead into the center of the image.  I edited the image in photoshop.

Mosaic Plant

This is a plant at my house.  I took several different pictures of it from different angles then put them together in photoshop to create a Mosaic picture.

Couple Walking

This is a couple walking.  It was difficult for me to adjust the camera in time to get a good picture, so the image is blurry.  The original image was very light and didn't show much contrast, so I used photoshop to edit the brightness and contrast.

Dogs in Park

These are some people I saw walking their dogs in the park.  I don't feel this is my best work, as the image is slightly blurry.

Street Photography "Confused Couple"

While looking around for pictures of people to take, I found this couple walking my way.  I was practicing "street photography".  My goal was to remain unseen or unnoticed but as this picture shows, I failed.  I love the looks on the couples faces as they walk closer.

Mosaic Piano

This is a mosaic.  To create this I stood in one spot and took multiple photos of this piano.  I varied the distance and size by using the camera's "zoom" feature.  I took the photos and changed the tints, to give it color.

Crossing Railings

This is the railing leading to the football stands at my high school.  When I stood and looked at it I loved how the railings crossed each other giving a very complex look.  I tried to use the bars on the railings to create a line or path for the eye to follow.

lost water-bottle

While searching around my school for interesting photos, I came across this water-bottle lying on the floor.  To bring more attention to it i used the railings to make lines that lead to it.  I also divided the picture plane into thirds and fit the water-bottle in the bottom right corner.  I thought the water-bottle itself was beautiful, the way the sun reflected off it and wondered why someone would leave it.

This is a photo of trash cans outside of my school.  I chose to photograph them, because of the way humans would interpret the trash cans.  When you first looked at the photo, what was the first thing you noticed?  Most people would say the black trash can.  This is because we are so used to the norm and the uniqueness of the trash can attracts our eye.

Thirds-clarinet case

These photos are of one of my clarinet cases.  I had the hinge open to show that someone could have been there recently.  I made the hinge in the top right corner to follow the rule of thirds.

These are self portraits.  I went into a dark room with my camera and a garage light.  I positioned the light so that it would him my face and make the background dark.  The smudge on the right side of my head is actually my finger about to poke the camera.

Thirds-bowl

In this photo of a bowl I positioned the bowl on a coffee table and focused it so the bowl was focused and in the top half of the photo.  I shot this in the day next to a window.

Pinhole camera-school

This image was taken with a pinhole camera.  I took this after students came back from lunch.  You can see the litter that was left behind by the students.

The images are of my sister.  I had her open a door and look up at the sky.  I like this photo because she appears to be staring up at something that makes her curious.

Woodwinds

When I took this picture, I set a sax clarinet and flute on the ground.  I then took a second clarinet and placed it on a stand.  The instruments were set next to a window so I could get a dim natural light on them.  I like how the instruments reflect the light and look "shinny."

Clarinet

This photo was taken by a window during the afternoon.  I placed my clarinet over a few sheets of music that I've performed.  I positioned it so that the clarinet cast a slight shadow over one of the pieces.  I also like how the nickle keys reflect some of the music.  The pieces the clarinet is on are: "Alleluja" from the "Exultate Jubulate" by Mozart, "The Magic Flute" also by Mozart, and the third I don't remember what it was.

 This is a portrait of a girl outside.  I was talking to her and she looked up and smiled at me and I then took the picture.  I chose to make the background out of focus so she would stand out more.

Pinhole Camera-Cellos

 This picture was taken with a pinhole camera.  This picture is of cellos in our schools band room.  I timed it just right so the right amount of light was on it.  The camera was set on a stand and i exposed it for about 2 minutes, then edited it so it wasn't negative.

This is the original image before  changed it in photo shop.  I set it on a stand and timed it for a little more than 2 minutes.

One Thing Alto Sax

I took this picture in the morning so it would produce less light.  The saxophone was held up on grass with a blanket underneath it.  The blanket provides a blank background.  I took the picture up close so the viewer can see the reflection of the dim sun on the shiny metal.  I edited the image to make the saxophone appear darker.  The top image is the photo edited in Photoshop.  The bottom image is the original photograph.
